Just dropped my 00 off for new shocks.

I bought the shocks a while ago but just havent had time to do them between work and my other car. So today I took it to a shop to have them do it, now I dont have to deal with that nasty rusted top nut!

I think theres going to be a huge change when I get it back. One of the biggest things I notice is when I go over a bump and turn to the right. The front end dives and then as I turn the front left corner dives even more and the right rear pops way up. Hard braking I also noticing huge diving too and cornering isnt the best either.

Ive almost got 90k kms on it now I should have done it earlier.

Great to hear you're upgrading. What shocks did you go with? How much are they charging you to have them installed? Is it a local guy, or a chain store? You'll have to tell us your first impressions.

Re: Just dropped my 00 off for new shocks.

My dealer charged me 100 bucks which seems about right since most folks here have mentioned that they are spending about 2 hours to do it.

So for about 210 I got new shocks (from A1) and had them installed. Pretty cheap upgrade.

Re: Just dropped my 00 off for new shocks.

Well the place I Got the shocks from sold me the wrong damn shocks so now the trucks sitting on the hoist, they had to cut the back ones off and they close today and dont open up until tuesday.

I got monroe sensetracs and now I need to find out the right part number. Such a simple job turns into such a huge abortion on my day off.

Re: Just dropped my 00 off for new shocks.

What the hell I have the right part numbers, according to shocks you used amigo-2k. I went by the mechanics shop thought and the with the rear end full compressed to the point where its lifting the truck off the hoist, the shock is still a good 2 inches too short.

What the hell gives??

Re: Just dropped my 00 off for new shocks.

Couldn't tell ya. Maybe, the wrong shocks got put into the box? Is there a part number on the shock?

I used those exact part numbers when I ordered mine just a month ago from A1-shocks. If you order them from A1 you may want to give them a call. A1 also verified with me on the phone that part numbers were for the +98 Rodeo's-Amigo.

G'luck.

Nope no ISC on mine. I'll make a note about it on the website. Sorry about that.

Wish I read that post before I wasted the money on shocks and got the mechanic to begin. Then I would still have my truck and the shock wouldnt be cut and useless

pep boys has a great deal....

the local pep boys (dallas, TX) charges $13.99 per shock to intall.

tough to beat that price so i had 4 new monroe sensa-tracs installed (though i don't feel much diff when i go over speed bumps, etc.).
