I Have A 96se Max. When I Press Brakes To Stop The Rpms Start To Drop Like Car Is About To Stall Out. This Happens Off/on. I Let The Car Warmup Before Driving. Need Help On This Problem
Brakes Are Good Had Them Done 3 Months Ago This Problem Just Started. Could It Be A Vacum Line Or Something Need Help

Re: Almost Stalls

5spd or auto? My auto drops to 400rpms then bounces back up to 600-700 when I take my foot off the gas. Is that like what yours is doing?

Re: Almost Stalls

hey whats up....it sounds like you have a bad connection....check your battery wires because the is a chance that when you press your brakes ..the brake lights use too much. soo try putting your high beams on..when its doing that.if it does the same thing as when you press your brakes its your battery. it might also be the spark plugs and/or wires..so maybe try a tune up if you havent done that in a while.

Re: Almost Stalls

My car starting doing this when I changed my air filter from a Fram OE-replacement filter to a K&N high flow filter. I've never had her stall on me though.

Tps Tps...

One thing in wobbly idle, engine hesitating, dying etc: TPS = Throttle pos sensor (even new one!)
...this small black box on the throttle axle end is a !mechanical! potentiometer that wears out. It moves with gas pedal, every touch...

It could be unproperly installed in the factory like mine was - I opened and repaired it.

Nasty: When tested in the shop it might work, but on the road fails...

Tell them to Replace it if you suspect this. Ridiculous box: Its somewhat open for all dirt, does not even stand water wash...
