Unhappy Update: car runs again... just doesnt move! lol Big thanks goes out to 95 GSXracer!!

well the car is back up and running although i cannot seem to get the clutch to dissengage with the motor running! yes its adjusted just fine and the system has been bleed... goes into gear just fine while its running up on the hoist, can get it to go through gears but when i apply the brakes with it in first and the clutch in the motor stalls out so i know the clutch isnt dissengaging! so did a little RESEARCH <--- WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD DO BEFORE THEY ASK A QUESTION! and i came up with a bunch of great info from many of Kevins posts! THANK YOU KEVIN... i dont know where i would be without you, probably still under the car wondering why the fuck my car wont go into gear! lol anyways taking the tranny off in about 1/2hr to inspect the throw out bearing but so far from what i can see it looks to be fine... my guess is that the clutch fork is hitting the side of the bellhousing causing it to not allow the clutch to dissengage all the way! anyone else that has this problem... here is the fix: gotta give kevin all the credit he deserves!!! this info has been found in this thread if anyone has any further questions... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=186286

If you find this is happening, or you know the flywheel is getting thin (the firction surface is level with the body of the FW), shim out the ball stud the fork pivots on. Just remove it, and put a washer behind it. That will move the whole fork closer to the plate, getting you some travel back. Taboo makes a 1/4" longer slave rod, but I've never used one.
thanks a lot man... this seems to be the problem and hopefully will be the fix, i might just get a new throw out bearing anyways since i am goin to have the tranny of anyways! hopefully she will stay together long enough to make it through sunday... Import race day at the local track so i am goin to see what times i can get... shit it will be the first time i have had it at the track so hopefully i dont kill it again! i'm gunna trailer it there just incase. gotta think ahead. i'll let you all know the outcome... probably wont be back on here until late tomorrow (friday) night! hopefully all goes well! i'm out... peace~

I hope that fixes it I always keep a washer behind the ballstud on every tranny I install now, it always helps. And if it shims it out too much, there is plenty of adjustment at the pedal rod in the opposite direction... Hope it works out for you. And replacing the TOB is certainly a good idea while you are in there, only ~25 bucks.

Re: Update: car runs again... just doesnt move! lol Big thanks goes out to 95 GSXracer!!

well after a fun morning yesterday of removing the tranny and checking everything it ended up being the release fork was hitting the bell housing... so shimmed it out a little wit a 1/8th" washer, replaced the TOB just to be on the safe side and put the car back together... started at 6am, had everything off by 7am, went to parts store and to mcdonalds for breakfast, back to the shop by 7:45am, car back together and off the hoist by 9am! that has got to be one of the fastest removal and reinstallations i have ever done on a tranny! i sure hope its the last time i have to do it for awhile! hopefully i dont break it tomorrow!
