Question

Hey, im not thinking of buying it (mainly because i have no money) but i wanted to know if this was a good deal?

1967' 911 with 138,000 miles on it. Its got a NEW paint job, like new black interior. I havnt asked the guy if it runs good or anything, but i have look at the car and all.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on it. My brother dislikes the deal (in case any of you cared at all)

That would depend on how much the guy wants for the car.

He may be able to get that for the car, if it's body is solid, it's never been in an accident, and the car is in top notch mechanical shape. I've seen early 911s go for even more than that, when they are really good examples.

If you're looking at paying that much money for a car that is as expensive to maintain as an early 911, I would take the car to a Porsche dealer, or at the very least a German car specialist and have them go over it with a fine toothed comb. There is no sense in paying $10K for a car that in good nick would be worth $10K, when it needs $5K in work. 37 years is a long time, and the car has most likely had several owners. It only takes one of them to neglect it, and you have a myriad of potential problems.
