daytime running lamps
I was just wondering if anyone knows what year the Suburban started to use Daytiime Running Lamps. I was changing a fuse yesterday, and I saw Relay 16 being listed as DRL/FG. I was wondering if the DRL stood for Daytime RUnning Lamps.
I have a 95 LT |

Re: daytime running lamps
DRL s daytime running lights. I would guess DRL started in 1987 or 1988 I and leaning more on 1987. But I am guessing that yours aren't working. The first thing I would check is the diode for the DRL it is about knee height on the right side of your steering column. It has fins about 2inches long and about 1 1/2 wide. it is bolted to the steel tube.

Re: daytime running lamps
what was that guy thinking daytime running lights didnt start intill 96/97 on some models of trucks that was factory... using bulbs 9005 high and 9006 lowbeams...you could buy and after market kit to make older models equipped but factory install wasnt intill 96 it could be a dealer option on older models

DRL went standard in all GM vehicles IN 97. They were optional before that starting in 90

Re: daytime running lamps
FYI, in Canada all vehicles years from 1990 must have DRL from the factory (i believe). DRL have been here for a long time.
