Loss of Vtec???

my friend has a 94 EX coupe 5spd with 160k. lately his vtec has no power. we used to hear and feel it pretty well but lately, it just goes thru the revs like a non-vtec car. I checked his solenoid pwer plug and it read a good 12.5V so the signal is definitely there. we also took out his solenoid hoping to find a dirty gauze but it didnt have one. is this normal for accords, or is there a bunch of vtec motors that didnt come with the little filter gauze on the solenoid?? whats the problem here??

Re: Loss of Vtec???

You can check the oil pressure, maybe it is an electrical problem. Did you check the ECU but if that is not the problem maybe you might want to change the oil in the car to.
