I have a 1999 GMC Sierra Z71 and Recently I noticed stiffness in the steering, only when turning right. The other day I noticed it is almost impossible to turn right when stopped. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: 1999 Sierra Steering problem
I have a 99 gmc pickup new body style, and I had the same problem. Mine was the gear box.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a known problem with the steering on the new style 99 trucks. When my truck was fairly new, I had the troubled part replaced. Generally it caused a vibration in the steering wheel. I haven't heard of anything more than that. It was a simple fix, just replacing part of the linkage. (can't remember what exactly the part name was...) Hopefully, you've already found a fix. Good luck.
