Can anyone in here help me fix my moonroof? It won't close all the way. It gets stuck before the back end sinks into place. I've tried cleaning out the tracks, and greasing it out, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? It's driving me crazy!!

How or where does it get stuck?

Did you fix it already?

Is the motor that powers the moonroof slowing down? Mine has started doing this too. Luckily for me mine does not get stuck yet, but I imagine it's only a matter of time. It's just a sad fact of life that electric motors eventually weaken burn themselves out. I would imagine this is what's occurring with yours, since you've already tried greasing and cleaning the tracks.
Give it another shot with WD-40, and if that doesn't do the trick, unless someone else has another suggestion, I'd recommend looking for a junked Integra with a moonroof and working a deal with the junkyard you've found it for salvaging the moonroof motor. It will be a lot cheaper than going to a dealership to have it fixed. |

Okay. Let me try to explain this more concisely, so that y'all can see what's happening. It's just that it's kind of hard. I wish I had access to a digital cam just so that I can show you guys better.
Okay... Imagine that you're in your Integra. You sit in the driver's seat. You got that? Okay. Now look at the switch. It's a nice day out, so you decide to open her up. You press the bottom half of the switch and slide the moon roof all the way open. At this point, everything's fine. It's not that my motor's weakening or anything. Now, here's the problem. You get back, and want to close the roof. You press the switch, and watch as it slides back. But right before the back side of the moon roof slips down (you know what I'm talking about, right? The moon roof is made so that the entire piece slides out. First the back portion rises up, then the entire piece moves back.), it gets stuck and will not close. The motor still goes, unable to slip the roof down into place. The only way I can make it close is by flicking the switch back and forth. But after a while, it get's really annoying. |

Okay! Obviously the motor that powers your moonroof is fine. And that's good. I'd try more WD-40 and cleaning out of the tracks that the glass panel rides on. I believe that if you clean it out thoroughly enough, it will work again without any trouble.

Also check to make sure the parts that bring the moonroof down aren't loose. If not, clean till you knuckles hurt.

after all that cleaning, maybe try lubing every moving part . . . something could just be dry and uncooperative . . . "lithium grease" . . . works well and doesn't wash away.

I have a similar problem, except it's when I open my moonroof, sometimes it sticks and I have to help it up, out of the roof with my hand.... It was replaced by the dealership 4 months ago, or so they claimed..... oh well...
