Exaust setups

I am looking for a nice exaust setup, I was checking out some on www.fbodymotorsports.com, but i dont know what to get. I am looking for that american thunder sound that is popular with mustangs. I saw a Borlan exhaust for $750 with million mile warranty. LOL who the fuck is going to drive a car a million miles. well that looked nice. it also has plates to adjust the sound, does anyone have one of these? I like my car to sound nice when i am driving, I like that agressive ehaust tones found in most newer mustang gt's and cobras.

I currently have a 305 engine, my whole car is stock and i think it currently has a stock catback system which sounds ok, but i want a better sound.

I even want a better tone sound than the bling bling caprices you see around town also, with the jumbo 22-24 inch rims lol.

Re: Exaust setups

Borla sounds great, its what I have on my 00 but I also have 3 in dual 2-1/2 out flowmaster on my 95 thats sounds real mean as well...
I'm not real sure what it would sound like on a 305 but would be better than stock im sure...
Watch eBay for a Borla set up for you car... Thats where I got mine... Paid $350 plus shipping vs. $750 all I had to do was weld it up... Hell you could do a true dual set up with an x-pipe that would really sound good...

Re: Exaust setups

I the mustangs have that unique sound because the have long exhaust tips. The longer the pipe, the deeper the sound. I can recognize cars by their exhaust sound, and every time my brother pulls up in his 96 GT I always think its a truck, cause it sounds just like one. Trucks also have long exhaust tips coming from the muffler jUst like stangs. The problem is,on a camaro, you won't have room for long pipes coming from the muffler.

Re: Exaust setups

Well thanks for all your help, I think I'll go with the $750 Borla setup since they offer a million mile waranty lol, and you can adjust the sound.

Re: Exaust setups

Oh by the way, we are selling the 1989 Black Mustang LX 5.0, car is stock and superfast, it has high running gears, we are talking 60 mph at 1500 rpm's 80 mph at 2000 rpm's, and this car goes 100 mph at only 2500 rpm's. Also has good acceleration. If you live in the Athens, GA area you can come see it. We are only asking $2,250 for it. All it needs is a new weld for the hood, dam hood wont shut, an ignition switch,(you have to play wif it to get the lights to work), a front end allignment and some new tires. the mustang has 150k miles on it, and to tell you the truth it actually drives better than my camaro. these are also quicker than the GT's because they are 800 pounds lighter. send me a private message if interested in the mustang.

The mustang may drive nice, But the camaro's will forever rule!!!!!!
