drivers info panel on 98

let me start out by saying that i have the panel in the middle of the dash
that displays a picture of car and tells you which door is open if any, and it has a few indicator lights for oil, traction on/off low traction and something else. I noticed there was a factory option to have a different one that displays gas milage and a few other functions like oil life. Is it possible to just plug that new module in without any new wires?

I have a 98 GP GT and just installed a Digital DIC on my car tonight. It was just plug and play for me. What you need to do is check and see if you have a 2nd wiring harness behind your current DIC. If you do, than you can just plug and play, if not, you have to do alot of splicing. The 2nd harness is hard to find. You will have to remove your dash, take out the DIC and look around the area behind the DIC, mine was really hidden back there. It is in some foam wrapping. I hope this helps.

Re: drivers info panel on 98

i bought a Digital DIC from a 97GTP and only the door functions works as far as I can tell. Is the wiring different for the 97GTP. The wiring harness is the same. I have a 98GT.
