Hi, my 97 T and C 3.3 squeals when warming up and it's coming from the power steering pulley. Been going on for a LONG time (almost a year ) and nothing else seems to happen, the steering seems fine. What could it be and what should I do? THANKS!

Re: Engine SQUEALS!
When was the last time you changed the serpentine belt? If you changed it recently then the problem is internal in the power steering pump. Make sure that the fluid in the reservoir is up to the proper level. I would think that the problem is with the belt slipping rather than the pump itself. Make sure your belt tensioner is working right and that you have proper tension on the belt. If all this is OK the problem may be in the rack and pinion. Try some Lucas power steering fluid conditioner, it will help lubricate the seals and may eliminate the problem.
