03-04 4 runners

I am in the process of shopping for a 03 or 04 4Runner. I would like the Limited V6 package. I have a had a 93 Jeep Cherokee Country for over 10 years and over 200,000 miles. I hear the 4 Runners are great in weather and last forever. If anyone can provide insight into common problems or major problems, reliability, etc. I would appreciate it

Short-term reliability is excellent. Long-term reliability is unproven - Probably excellent.

V6 is new engine with proven transmission.
V8 is proven engine with new transmission.

I have a 94 Grand Cherokee with 170K miles on her and I have a 2003 Sport 4runner. Although I love them both, there is no comparison. The way the vehicle handles says it all. The 4runner is like a sports car/SUV. It is also built much better. You will appreciate the drain plugs located on the trany and diff’s. No more removing all of those bolts.
