its not the resistor

I replaced my fuel pump resistor and the car ran fine for about a week. But today it blew the fuse again while I was on the freeway. Could anything else be causing this other than the fuel pump? Or am I looking at a couple hundred bucks here?

Re: its not the resistor

you might have a faulty relay or maybe fuel pump death is being foreshadowed. relay $25, pump $190.

One off our Seattle club members also had the same problem with the fuse blowing and he replaced the fuel pump with a Walbro and has never had a problem after changing it out and its only 134 plus shipping with the Corrugated Fuel Pump Hose .....so id say it may be time to replace the pump ..........~Larry~

Re: its not the resistor

advanced auto priced the pump at $250, so that Walbro should save me a bit of money, thx.

Some places will sell you only the pump..Others want to sell you the whole intake assemble, at a much higher price..

Re: its not the resistor

damn wish mine had been that easy to fix, instead the module was broken at the pins so they floated around the tank so i had no choice but to buy a new one heh.

Re: its not the resistor

I was wondering if the car had an access panel like that. Should make things much easier.
