Need to ask dumb ?

okay i bid on and won a radio from ebay. I have an 88 Buick Lesabre 3.8 with a Delco cassette palyer I won a Delco from the year 1990 will this work if not ill just put it back up for auction. My radio wont work only certain times if you jam the buttons then it will work for a few mins they are really hard to set the clock also so I figured better look into new or used one and this was in the price range I can afford.
Sorry to ask a dumb ? but i dont want to screw anything up

Re: Need to ask dumb ?

You shouldn't have any problems connecting it. I don't believe they changed the OEM adapter, there should be 3 or 4 small harnesses grouped together that will plug directly into the new radio, they only fit one way and are all different sizes and shapes so there should be no confusion as to which harness plugs where.

The trick is getting the dashboard off ;-) be prepared, you'll need to pry the trim off then use a torx (star-shaped) screwdriver to unscrew the dash panel.
