What's this dash light mean?

We have a light on the dash board that looks like two parenthasis with an exclamation point in the middle. We do not have an owners book yet. Just bought the van and are waiting for the book that is on order. Can anyone help?

That exclamation mark with brackets means a problem with your catalytic converter. I was told that it means that it is close to Self-Implosion. Very dangerous and needs to be checked.

ACTUALLY IT DOESN"T mean what i said above. IT MEANS YOUR PARKING BRAKE IS ON.

You have a marker or tail light out somewhere on the van. Most likely a tail / brake light. Have someone operate all the lights while you go around the vehicle and see which one it is...

If it is red and the one I think it is then it is the Brake light. It could mean the parking brake is on or as ModMech suggests the car thinks the parking brake is on. It could also mean that the brake fluid is low.
