Re: Intake manifold sujjestions

If you get the manifold, let me know how you like it. A good friend of mine has a edlebrock manifold and throtle body that he loves, but I don't have anything to compare it too. I'm a big skunk2 fan. I think there one of the best for honda..........fISH

Skunk2 makes an awesome intake manifold. There have been some cases where there is a problem mounting it in acuras, although I am not sure which applications exactly. Performance-wise it is great when teamed up with a bored throttle body. It's a great peice to have for the air system. Good luck ..

try ebay. they will have it for decent prices, from $200-$300.

also look into an good throttle body while ur putting in an intake manifold. I've heard alot of good things about BBK TB's

do u have cams in your car? putting cams with a free flowing manifold like the skunk2 will put out some decent numbers

Re: Intake manifold sujjestions

Hey guys i'm new on here and i just bought an integra gs with a b18 b1 engine (e/h/i, ecu, msd ignition, cam gears) in it and i was wondering if switching the intake manifold, fuel rail, fuel injectors to a b16 obd-o (jdm first generation) intake manifold, feul rail, and fuel injectors would help me out at all in anything. And if it will fit for that matter. thanks alot

I don't think the b16a IM has the same bolt pattern as the LS. And a new IM won't really do much unless you have cams or something like that too.

Re: Intake manifold sujjestions

Skunk 2 is a good bhrand if you do not have a turbo, but MAKE sure your engine matches the engine they have listed or you are screwed!

Re: Intake manifold sujjestions

An intake manifold wont do much unless you have other big mods. I would go with new camshafts and cam gears first. Skunk2 makes good camshafts for the vtec B18. You could also try Toda.

U sure u need cams? i heard that if you modified a type R IM for a b18c1 that it will give upwards of 5 hp bolt on, since it does away with the dual stage runners. Essentially, the skunk2 IM is just like an ITR IM, so having just a SRI should give u somethin cool.

Re: Intake manifold sujjestions

Yeah you're right, I just don't consider 5hp very much. You'd definently get more gains from it if you had cams also. Especially on the GSR, just by looking at the manifold you can tell it's pretty crappy.

Re: Intake manifold sujjestions

ok first of all i just asked about manifolds 2nd gsr's have butter flys in the intake primary and secondary's so they really lose alot of power from it and you gain more than 5 hp from changing it because of that. 3rd ive already upgraded my valve train to hold up to 11,000 rpms i just need cams and gears but i need and intake for now and fuel system to take more advantage of the bigger valves i put in. mainly fuel and air. im taking care of my cams a little bit later. i think im gonna get an edlebrock manifold thou because there massive and pretty good. and just by changing the manifold on a gsr my friend runs 15.7 at 5,000 and thats all he has done plus cold air so dont tell me u dont get again from the manifold unless u got a gsr and did it to yours dont go off of hear say guys. i talk to other guys that have gsr's and there way different then all the others cuz of the manifold type. type r dont have secondary butterflys in them so they only gain about 5 hp. my friends work at a turbo show and has an 11 second type r unfortunately i posted this before i went to him. but he makes intake manifolds for turbos and install them all day. and cams dont do crap unless u upgrade your intake, fuel system, and exhaust otherwise u get a little gain from everything and not alot. do the whole package guys pieces at a time if you have too but your not gonna gain alot until you upgrade it all.
