ok, here's a good question, who understood Fooly Cooly the first time they watched it. I had may mouth open the first few show's, and I thought it was funny as hell.

Re: fooly cooly

I understood it. One of my favorite series. The plot doesn't really become clear though until the last two episodes.

Re: fooly cooly

Fooly Cooly or Furi Kuri or FLCL (depends on who you ask, and what country they're from ) was really a very good stream-of-consciousness anime that is very random until the last two episodes pull it all together. If you've ever seen Evangelion you'll recognize some base similar character-types, but it's like Eva chars on crack without a hint of sanity in their life. A lot of the production crew for FLCL came from Neon Gen., and I believe that they were just sick of doing a very very very great but waaaay to deep series, and needed to go crazy with something.

Re: fooly cooly

I think that it was a great anime, but for me, sad to say i had to watch it a couple times through. I had to watch it on adult swim and when i missed one episode i was completly lost. What about the manga? I think that the awsome sketchy artwork in the manga was great, but I only know of 2 books. Is there a reason why they havn't made more? Or do they already have them out and i just havn't seen them...

Re: fooly cooly

Definitely a fav in my list...I'm glad those guys from Neon G did something as cracked-out as Furi Kuri, they sure needed to after Eva.

Re: fooly cooly

I finally saw the ending. And I'm such a nerd that I correctly identified every vehicle in that show - who else here can say they knew the three wheeled truck was a Daihatsu CM? Or that the white scooter was a Fuji Rabbit?
Anyway it was great.

Re: fooly cooly

i heart FLCL. its a huge pun on other anime and j-popculture which sometimes comes off as random but still funny. 6 eppys werent enough for the series. i understood it the first time through but i do have a couple questions that confused me (fansubs?). was mamimi homeless or just never home? did she drop out of highschool? just what the hell was haruko doing that night in ta-kuns dad's room with the dummy (looked like banging)? and finally, wtf was the deal with those "Eyebrows"?
