Almost did it

Ok I turned over the b16 after the swap and nothing. I got spark and fuel is flowing throught the fuel rail. No codes on the ecu. It sputtered like it was going to run for about a second or two, but that was it. Any suggestions?

Re: Almost did it

hey, congrats on your swap. now since you cant get it fired up create a list of all possible things you think may cause it to not start. and go through the list. double check all your work and eliminate as you go. I bought a dead 89 4dr civic d15b2. after i ran through my list its either the main/ primary injector was stuck open causing way to much fuel to pour into the motor casuing a flood (also consider a closed/ stick closed regulator) and it wont fire up or my ecu is shot (has 180 miles on it).

I;m going to do a mpfi swap on it,which will result in swapping the intake mani/injectors and the ecu. i'll see whats up then.

I'd like to add, a simple litte thing such as a ground wire will cause moderate problems. MY bro's integ had a bad ground wire somewhere in his engine bay and while driving his car or at idle, it would cut out on him a lot, simply die, occasional power loss. it wasnt his main relay or a lot of other things, it was a simple ground wire.

let us know what happens.

Re: Almost did it

could be the ground at the thermostat housing. that ground goes straight to the ecu. if its bad, usually you can here the main relay "click" but nothin else happens.
happened to me w/ my b16, it would run then cut out, then not start for a while, then start again. bolt turned out to be loose. heh
