Automotive inspection checklist for mechanics

Hello. I am looking for a good checklist to be used by a mechanic for inspecting vehicles in an autoshop. Thanks in advance for your help.

Just stop by a few shops and get their lists. I don't feel like typing that much.

Re: Automotive inspection checklist for mechanics

The 'n point' checklist crap does not happen. They pay a kid minimum to wash the car, hose off the motor and based on year/mileage bet that the MTBF (mean time between failure) is still a bit off...and of course charge a premium. I think only the music recording industry is more corrupt than the used car industry.

But as for safety inspection, most mechanics can point you online to the 'reject if...' portion of the vehicle code governing safety inspections. (My state - PA - incidently is among the toughest)

So true. I had to threatin legal action on a used car dealer. The vehicle was not only unchecked it was unsafe. They tried to tell me that they never said they check used vehicles at all and then put me on hold and I had to listen to their bla bla bla we give 120 pt. check on all used cars bla bla bla. LOL Needless to say they put $800 in the truck for me.
