Question HELP with 95 HONDA ACCORD SHAKES WHEN PRESSING ON BREAKS

please respond I have had this car for almost a year and just recently it has been shaking whenever I slow down and press on the breaks. I thought it was the break pads and so I got them replaced today and yet the car still shakes. What else could be the problem? My car is a standard, could it have anything to do with that?

You most likely need to get your brake rotors turned.

I would honestly recommend replacing the rotors before turning them.
On older american cars, turning was okay because they'd build the rotors so thick, you could afford to shave off a millimeter or two and still have healthy rotors... Hondas are built so light, that when you shave the rotors, you're making them even thinner and weaker and quicker to warp next time you have to slam the brakes at 70.

Have your rotors inspected. I'm surprised the brake shop didn't do this when you had the pads replaced. If they need to be replaced, go with OEM rotors unless you feel the urge to go non-OEM. There are a lot of threads discussing different rotor options, such as Brembo blanks.

also if you wait too long to get rotors replaced or turned it may back you into buying new brake pads as well. rotors have a funny way of having to have new pads with it...learned that the hard way..one too many times.

Don't know about anyone else, but I had to replace my rotors a while back (driving on the Autobahn will do that to ya....), and went with slotted over cross-drilled - heard the drilled ones had a high chance of cracking, especially @ high speeds (like 135 down to 40 mph slam on the peadal)..... Opinions?

i heard the same about the cross drilled, they warp quicker too. dimpled are the way to go or just blanks, unless ur like autocross or rally racing. or if ur rotors glow red when u slow down, lol.
