Exclamation AC Troubles 95 Aurora Need HELP!!!!

Hey all, first time here. Here is my problem...1995 Olds Aurora 122000 miles. AC suddenly starts blowing warm air. Add a little r134 and it blows cold...then starts blowing warm the next day. Compressor is cycling on and off and the higher I crank the air the faster it quits cycling period. If I leave the air on the lowest setting on the blower it works fine and does not cycle except for when I am accelerating. But crank it up full blast and the it cycles rapidly and then quits....is it the Compressor Cycle Switch???? Does anyone know where that is located??? IS my compressor shot??? It blows ice cold air when it is working and is not seized up or anything, it just cycles like crazy. Does anyone know where to get a one of those step by step books that show where engine parts are located on the Aurora??? But most important...can anyone give me some advice on what to do with AC in my car??? replace switch or what???

Thanks in advance!!!

The system will not run if the pressure gets too low. You may want to bring it to a shop that has the right equipment to check for leaks and get the proper presure in the system. That way you can eliminate that as the possible problem.
I'm having ac problems to. My compressor grenaded. The orifice tube was completly packed with metal from the compressor. I installed a shorter belt so I can run the car until I collect the parts and get time to fix it.

I concur. Before you start examining switches and the like be certain that you have the correct r134a charge (system pressure). If you don't own the proper refrigerant gauges then take it to a professional. The system will cycle off if pressures are too low, too high, or if engine RPM exceeds something like 5500. Air blowing over evaporator at lower fan speeds allows more energy, in the form of heat, to be used to evaporate the refrigerant. At higher fan speeds the heat transfer rate is reduced and if your system charge is not at the correct level the pressure at the evaporator will not be sufficiently reduced. The system will detect a high/low imbalance and cycle the compressor to off. Get the system properly charged and leak checked. Then start the next phase of diagnosis (if required).

I have a '95 too. At 126k miles mine did the same thing only it did cycle on and off it just blew warm air. I thought the A/C was gone. The dealer refilled the system with more 134 and I was on my way. May have to add more each year as there is a very very slow leak somewhere, but I do not want to spend $1G on a new unit or parts of one(did that at 90k)

Try asking your shop to put some dye in the system, then when you notice the coolness drop, bring it back to them so they can detect the leak(with a special light) and fix it. NOTE: dye is put into the system when the eqipment cannot find the small leak. This is done during the leak check! some shops charge 40+ to do a leak check.
