2004 F-150 Accessories

Good evening all. I was wondering if anyone knows where i can get my hands on some of the inserts for the overhead rail system in the 2004 Fx4? Snakelights, dvd/cd case, power invertor and so on. Also does anyone know if there is some that will fit in the smaller compartment. Thanks

These you can order from Ford directly, or through the Ford dealer's service department. Unfortunately i didn't ever sell any of these accessories with the '04 trucks when i sold them. To find out how to do that, go www.ford.ca and under customer service there's a toll free number you can call.

That i don't know, so you'll have to inquire at the dealership or with Ford themselves.

Hope that helps you!

Thanks, yet again, for the help. The problem with going to the dealer is that no one really knows about these items. What info i did find was that, the are not selling them seperatly. To aquire the inserts, one has to buy a kit, which includes the bins and all. How chessey is that? They were available for a bit, but i am told they are discontinued. And now you have to buy the whole kit, which sucks, when one already has the bins, lol. I shall keep looking i suppose. I would imagine, it wont be long and someone will have after market ones available. I will keep an eye out on ebay, that place seems to be an informationable highway for new products like that, lol.

Patent Problem

I wanted to install a DVD system for my son but the only place I could purchase the mount system was through the dealer. I spoke with many custom audio/video installers when one onf them advised me that there was a patent problem between manufacturers; I do not know the installer personally but it sure does seem aweful funny that there isn't anything on the open market. Take it for what you will but I believe the installer.

Yup your right. I bought my truck with the dvd system in it already thank goodness. Its a $1970.00 option from the factory, but to put it in afterwards, i was quoted a whopping $2500.00. I checked for an aftermarket product, and did have some luck. They told me that if the Dvd systems was high enough that they could probably mold it nito the rail system, by cutting the skirting of the DVD system. It didnt sound bad to me, but i think it would be a far cry from factory look.

Thanks for the heads-up as to the whole package as opposed to just individual pieces, that's pretty goofy and i'll be calling the rep i used to work for and see what's going on.

I have a feeling that because of this being the first ever rail system, and all the other things that Ford has done to the turck they just haven't clued into the fact that they'd sell more if the things were individually packaged.
