Just checking if anyone else saw the drifting show on RIDES last night. It wasnt to bad except for the fact they showed the new GTslow I mean GTO that was in D1GP. Showed how they made it and developed and what not...... THey showed some up close and personals with team orange. Wasnt a bad show but was just gay because the whole GTO thing. I personally am not thinking GTO when i hear drifting.....but all in all i liked it. Props to rhys millen though for making the car in 2 weeks and finishing in top 16. Dont take anything personal of what i said about gto im just an ignorant american car hater...never have and never will like any american car. NOT ONE!!!! except for MAYBE a superbird.

If you honestly have any (i hate to say) respect to cars, then all cars are created equal.

Props to the GTO and props to the Viper for being different. They go against the typical "conform or die" of regular folk.

the car was built to drift, and it probably drifts better than any car you'll ever own. So what if its american made, WTF is wrong with that? its a custom built drift car and did a damn good job of drifting from what i saw...

would i buy a GTO to drift? no. but thats not the point.

Since the majority of the audience is like the mechanic, who did not understand drifting, the show used the GTO because it is a famous american car. Besides you should of expected them to do the show around an american car.

Yeah, id kill for a GTO. OR the Viper. Tons of HP and TQ, naturally aspirated. Dont know about the GTO but the Viper is anyways. It actually seems a bit unfair at the power they have at tap. Just waiting to go sideways. MMM MMM MMM.

I care i just hate american cars there are peices of shit any bodyman/ mechanic will tell you that(especially ford). Only cars iv known that break down under 5,000 miles....sad just sad. Yes i did expect them to do the show on an american car, but lets see if it was on a AE86, silvia, skyline, rx-7 or anything i think i (and many others) would enjoy the show 10x better. So if you think im an idiot for having a preferance on what type of car i like well then your just as ignorant as i am..... and M aurice you have the word rice in your name so...and all cars are not created equal, stop thinking of human rights. Alright lets break this down. The car is not the thing that drifts better than anything I will ever own. Last I checked the driver is 90% of the car. Remember when Mr. Ueo won the D1 USA? Technically my S13 drifts better than an AE86.

Bodymen/mechanics are biased because they see 80% of the 10% of bad cars. Yes there are some really bad cars out there, but they are obvious. Besides, the GTO is Australian not exactly American. Just like how USDM Fords are sterotypically garbage, the European Fords are godlike.

The point of the show was to show US drifting and how the scene is, not just the Japanese end of it. It seems to me that Japan and North America are sort of swapping trends. We are getting into all kinds of JDM goodies, and they are going all F&F on their cars.
