Current fab project

I'm working on a set of seat adapters for my 924 right now, when I got the car the factory Recaros were in desperate need of recovering. I have a set of seats from a first generation RX7 that are in good condition though, so they're getting swapped into the car.

I'm using the stock Porsche seat rails so I can still slide my seats, and the Mazda bolt spacing is almost exactly the same. The Mazda bolt holes are spaced about 30mm(1 3/16") wider, and about 10mm(3/8") shorter lengthwise.

I've drilled the spacers so that they're offset by 15mm each for width, and 5mm lengthwise. I still have to drill wide holes to clear the heads of the allen bolts that anchor the seats, but it all looks good from here! I'll post pics if I can get a camera for the day.

My lugnut requires more torque than your LS1 makes.

:P

I ran into a slight complication, namely a broken wrist... My car is good to go, I just can't drive it right now! Life can be so cruel at times...

As for my Recaros, they're still in the original guady brown vinyl and herringbone tweed. I'm going to get a pair of Sparco Sprints, pretty reasonable at $260 each and about half the weight of my old Recaros. They meet FIA and SCCA requirements, so I can track with them once I get my cage in.

Got 4 of them done, going to test fit in the car today! Also need to look for that pesky camera I have around here...

Sounds pretty cool. Post some pics when it's done so we can see your work. Hope the wrist gets better soon, too.
