I recently bought a used 2003 Mustang GT 100th Anniv. Ed., and I would like to replace my current wheels with the "deep dish" wheel that looks the same as the OEM wheels (which are 17" Anthracite Bullitt Wheels). I would appreciate if someone could make me understand if I could go up to an 18" wheel? I also need to understand if all 4 wheels should be the same size or should I put 18x9 on front and 18x10 on back. What kind of tire would be a good replacement for the OEM Goodyears? I would like a "chunky" looking tire, more rounded than square looking with a quieter ride and less tramlining than what I have now. Thank you kindly to anyone that might care to answer....I want to learn!

yes, 18's will fit perfectly fine on a mustang
18x10 in the back will help alleviate oversteer and will also allow you to launch harder, its really a matter of preference whether you want it or not. realize, that with tires that wide, they're going to "tramline", there's no way around that really, especially when you're moving to wider rims. The biggest question about picking a new tire is if you're going to need it to be somewhat useful year-round or if it will be summer only (I'd advise summer only on a GT in Michigan). For summer only tires and a "rounded look" I'd look at the Toyo Proxes 4 and Cooper Zeon ZPT if you're looking at something less than $140/tire and the BFG T/A KDW and Continental Sport Contact 2 if you're looking at something more expensive.

Thanks for your input.....based on what you suggest, would it be better to stick to OEM size wheels? What would make the car look better???? 17x9 all around
17x9 front and 17x10 rear 18x9 all around 18x9 front and 18x10 rear What would most Mustang owners do? Please offer your

most mustang owners that race don't go bigger than 17's, but most mustang owners that show have no problem using 18's. putting wider rear wheels and tires on gives the car a more muscle-car look. If you were just going to drive the car around, I'd go with 18x9's all around, and if you were going to race it I'd go with 17x9's in front and 17x10's in back.

Well, it seems that you're NOT QUITE AWARE of the fact that Ford made a limited number of a 2003 100th Centennial Anniversary edition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Ford Motor Co's existence, not the Mustang.........maybe that's because you favor vehicles not made in this country????
If you care to look into this further, you'll find that they made 1,323 units of this model, and all of them are black with "100th Centennial" badging. The color black was chosen because Henry Ford, whenever asked about colors of cars would say [...you can paint them any color you want as long they are black.....]. These Mustangs all have a 2-tone saddle/tan interior, gray anthracite bullit-style wheels and commemorative badging in the places you would usually find a GT badge on the car. And I guess you're right on one thing-a 2003 would be the 39th anniversary edition. Gosh, if you could find one with 39th anniversary badging I'd hold on to it--it may one day become a collector's edition. Oh, and as far as the 1906-1908 model years of the Mustang--the same goes for that. Gee, if you already have one, maybe you'd consider selling it to me? I'm sure it's priceless....
