1984 Caprice performance chip available?
I have an 1984 Caprice wagon and was wondering if a performance chip is available for the computer. I did a few searches with no luck. The computer is 3 years old, all the emissions manifold tubes have been replaced, it has a new NAPA cat on it. The engine is a 305 4v with a Qjet on it. The car runs well with 138k miles, I'd like to pick up a little performance and still have the car emissions legal in NY.
Thanks, Bob |

No chips for your wagon. try k&n air filter, edelbrock performer intake manifold, catback dual exhaust. All mods 50state legal and shouldn,t cost more than $600.oo! Replace yor o2 senser if you have one!

I've got an 84 too. Just put duals with turbo mufflers and a K&N. You'll be happy with the sound if ya put duals on. Didn't notice a big jump in power ,though there was a little. Intake would probably help the most.

Re: 1984 Caprice performance chip available?
I've got a really nice '84 4 door sedan. Came from florida, no rust at all. Only 58k original miles. Any way, I know this is completely off subject, but since I'm also from NY, I know how bad the winter salt can be on these cars. Well to protect the underbody from completely rotting out like my other caprice did, spread grease all over the underside. I know it sounds weird, but it works unbelievably well. Water doesn't wash it away either. Try it, even if its already starting to rot. It'll seriously stop the rust dead in its tracks. As for performance, if you wanna keep it cheap, put a high flow air filter, and makeshift intake blower on it. Thats what I did, and it gave the car so much more pick up.
