Unhappy 2 brake lights not working, third brake light works

recently i discovered my turn signals (front and rear) not working and also brake lights not coming on. I checked fuse, and later after checking fuse the turn signals worked, front and rear, but brake lights still do not come on. My backing up lights work, all turn signals, headlights, etc. Third brake light works normally.

any suggestions on what i should check/do next?

i have heard about a brake switch somewhere near the brake pedal that someone was saying may have gotten bumped out of place that i should check---is it advisable to find this and jiggle it around?

any advice would be helpful

Re: 2 brake lights not working, third brake light works

Your turn signal switch is going bad - GM had the ingenious idea to route the brake wiring for the two lower brake lights through your turn signal switch. The sure tell tale sign is that your third brake light works but the other two don't.

Not just cavi's either, quite a few GM cars have that same issue.
