Why do people....

Well why do people put them loud mufflers on automatics. This is my personal opinion and some of you proprably wont agree. Well first of most of the cars I see in my area sound like crap because of a cheap exhaust system, but what irritates me the most is when I hear a car with an auto transmission with a loud muffler it sound like shit. Whats you all's opinion

I have an automatic Civic with a full titanium buddyclub cat-back exhaust. And I'd probably beat you.

Or you could be ghetto and have an automatic stick shift Just switch gears manually on an automatic. I dont get what the complaints are though. My ECU's fuel cut off (rev limiter) is at 6,800 rpms. If I were to gun it from a dead stop and not let go of the pedal, it'll shift at about 6,700 RPMs. Maybe thats just my car? Off topic question but is it bad to be running a OBDII engine on a OBD1 ECU? Ive been thinking about that lately. What sucks is that this newer engine I have installed has a redline of 7,200 rpms where as my old B7 was 6,800. My ecu still thinks I have the old 1.5 B7 in there so the limiter will still be set at 6,800... grr I want the extra rpms! Ohh and... why is this site all messed up? where are the smileys and avatars?

Re: Why do people....

I drive a standard and I would never want an automatic again, but I fail to see what your transmission has to do with what kind of exhaust you're allowed to have.

Ohhhh, I see... us stick shift guys need the bigger exhaust so our clutch plate emissions can be removed.
