Re: 3g Eclipse GT vs others

you most likely will be beat by:
Acura Integra type-R
Acura RSX-S (close)
Acura Integra GS-R (close)
Ford Mustang GT
Bullit Mustang
Cobra Mustang
Mustang 5.0
Pontiac GTO
Chevy Camaro Z28 or SS
corvette of any sort
Toyota MR2 Turbo
Toyota MR2 Spyder
Toyota Supra (any trim)
Nissan 300ZX
Nissan 350Z
Honda CRX w/ a b16 or higher swap
practically any turbo car
practically any supercharged car
Any pre-3g eclipse w/ turbo
Mits. Evo
Subaru WRX turbo and STI
Mazda RX-7 turbo (incl. 87 and up)
Lexus IS300

You will most likely be able to beat:
Honda Civic (incl. SI)
Honda Prelude (incl. SH)
Acura Integra (not GSR or typeR) i beat a GSR , but his tires were bald and couldn't get enough traction
Honda Accord
mitsubishi Eclipse non-turbo 4cyl.
subaru wrx NA
Ford mustang V6
Camaro V6
Nissan 240SX
Nissan 200sx
Nissan Sentra (SE-R spec V will hold its own)
Mitsu lancer (any trim except evo)
infiniti G20
honda CRX w/ stock engine

can't think of ne more but those are at least all we have around here and some i dreamt up or thought about getting have fun and if its got mods, then guestimate hp intakes 15hp on top of stock and exhaust 5-10 headers 20-30hp above stock
i like to use KBB side by side comparisons to paper race

Re: 3g Eclipse GT vs others

i would have to disagree with losing to the Lexus IS300. also, in a race with an Acura RSX type S, it would be a drivers race cause the cars are very close. and the statement of "practically any turbo car", the '03 mazdaspeed miata is turboed but its only rated at like 170hp. so i think he could take that one.

Re: 3g Eclipse GT vs others

Race one, then tell me you can beat the type s ivtec will kick your butt
besides that check these links compared to a stock eclipse GT 5 speed
http://www.modernracer.com/mazdaspeedprotege.html
FYI the miata has no .25 time, but its lighter and has more torque than the protege...
http://www.modernracer.com/mazdaspeedmiata.html
http://www.modernracer.com/acurarsxtypes.html
http://www.modernracer.com/lexusis300.html

compare them to this
http://www.modernracer.com/mitsubishieclipsegt.html
sure a couple might be drivers races, but for a beginner this'll work
for others go to the new car archive

Re: 3g Eclipse GT vs others

FYI mr. knowitall, i have raced a 2004 RSX type S, and i did beat it, and that was when my car was stock. so dont tell me that i cant beat one when i already have. you rely too much on paper races, i go by actual races. and i never said anything about a protege, so i dont know where that came from. here check out this link.

I actually raced one too, it was a 2003 w/ an intake and this guy could actually drive and we called it a tie, because we ended up pretty much even after 4 runs and he was pulling ahead when we had to shut down, i paper race before i race for real, and i never said you COULDN'T beat one, i put (close) beside a list for a beginner not you

the Protege is a comparative car to the Miata, same hp rating slightly less torque and hte Protege had a rated 1/4 mile time where the miata did not, the miata is lighter as well. both of them are mazdaspeed
