Trouble with fuel injectors???

I'm new here and would like to say hi. I think it's great to have a forum like this. First off let me say that I recently acquired this car through my brother. On July 5th. of this month to be exact. He purchased the car from his neighbor who is an old lady (that's for real) who had to give up driving on account she is losing her eyesight. It's a '96 Buick Century with 36,000 miles, that is in mint condition. My brother lives on Long Island, NY and I live in the Adirondacks, in upstate NY, about 400 miles from where he lives. I picked up the car and was very impressed with the way it drives. This is not a little running around car, like the Nissan Sentra I also have, but a solid cruising car. After driving this car my Nissan now feels like a Tonka toy compared to the Buick. Very unsettling how unsafe I feel in the Nissan now. Anyway, the problem I had started on the drive upstate. Halfway upstate, after about 2 hours of driving, the 'seek service soon' light popped on and stayed on. Scared the daylights out of me. When I got home I read the service manual and was advised to adjust the fuel cap (which I did) and do a few small driving trips to see if the light would go out, which it eventually did. I forgot all about it until this Saturday, when I started the car and it actually rocked backwards and forward. I accelerated while still in park and that seemed to take care of the problem. Today, I started the car and it sounded like the fan was going fast, then slow, then fast, then slow. Hard to explain, but almost like a wave. Could this be the fuel injectors or the gas intake? Sorry, I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure if I'm making myself clear. With the exception of this problem I love this car (even though I initially hated it when I first saw it). Sorry for the long post.

ok if your Service engine soon light is on, you need to get the service codes. You can either get the code scanner for OBDII or go to autozon/advanced autoparts and have them pull the codes for you. Have them pull the codes or buy the scanner youself (like 150 bucks for the scanner.) and get back to me and I will help you out the best I can.
