Stock Exhaust Guaging?

Does anyone know the Stock Exhaust piping guage? I know it's a dumb question but i search and come up with nothing... It's a 2003 GS... I'm looking to get a new system preferably 3" straight through. but would like to know this just out of curiosity...

unless youre gonna go forced induction, it would be bad for your car to go 3''.

Re: Stock Exhaust Guaging?

thanks for the info, say i were to get the magnaflow catback, how much horsepower do you believe it would boost when it's only a 2.25" guage?

I believe this has been posted before. A cat-back will only give you 3-4whp.

Re: Stock Exhaust Guaging?

They all will pretty much give you the same. I have the Magnaflow Catback and love it, so I highly suggest that or the Greddy Evo.

Re: Stock Exhaust Guaging?

nah it doesnt come with a hi-flow cat. in my opinion, if you bore out the cat, you destroy the beautiful sound of these two exhaust systems. when you bore out your cat, you make your car sound like the ricer civics that sound so loud and irritating. if that what you want, then go ahead. but theres not since in spending $300-$500 on a sweet sounds exhaust system, when your gonna bore the cat and kill the sound. it would probably be better to get a custom exhaust made for you by a local exhaust shop

Re: Stock Exhaust Guaging?

Random Technologies makes a 3" hi-flow cat for the GT. Not sure if it will work for the RS/GS

Re: Stock Exhaust Guaging?

The Magnaflow sounds great, my brother has it and it's working liek a charm. Don't expect more than 5WHP from an exhaust system.

Re: Stock Exhaust Guaging?

Our cars come stock with a good exhaust guage anyway, its the same guage that the magnaflow cats have, so spending 500-600 dollars doesnt sound like a good idea, i'm saving for the turbo..
