Vacuum cannister

Hi all. Wondering if someone could tell me (pics are also worth a thousand words) how to change the filter in the vacuum canister. I beleave mine is partially blocked causing me some greef. My repair manual says this is covered in chapter one (NOT). Anyhow, it's a 1998 Sunfire with a 2.2 if that makes any difference.

Re: Vacuum cannister

I saw the same thing. I have sent email to Haynes (assume that is the manual you are using) and will post the reply.

Just got word back from Haynes, their reply was...

Dear Sir:

Please see attachment. The evap filter is not servicable
and must be replaced when bad according to Chevrolet.
If you have a failure you will set an emission code.

Thank you for your interest in Haynes Manuals.

Sincerely,

Basically the attachment showed how to take the canister out. Don't know if that means that you have to replace the canister???? I will keep trying to find out........
