Unhappy Sudden stop on Golf 1.8T

I use to own a golf 1.8T, but it had really dangerous problems with it. Every so often, it would stop while.. running. Like one time when i wanted to make a right turn, i stopped, checked for cars, and when i wanted to proceed with the turn, the car went completely dead. I had to start the car up again in order to run it... im just wondering whether this has happened to anyone, and if so, do u know the why?.. :/
Thx!

Re: Sudden stop on Golf 1.8T

It may be helpful to have it scanned with a VW scanner or simulator as it can pick up codes that don't set the check engine light. Has it ever felt like the engine was misfiring/sputtering?
