gt40 heads or are they stock?

i have bought a used 5.0 engine to build for my currently running95 5.0 . i dont know if anything the guy said about this motor was true .. the question u have now is ... i pulled the heads off . how do i know if they are gt40s like he said ? he said the motor came out of a 95 cobra ... they have the letter s stamped in the corner and the number 19 stamped on the opposite corner i think... if they are gt 40 or cobra heads i plan on replacing my stock heads with these .. please help. someone ..

Either on the end of the heads or around the valves(i forget), there should be three slash marks next to each other. (l l l)

Re: gt40 heads or are they stock?

ok well i dont see any slash marks the only markings on the head are the letter S , the number 19 . and E6SE is stamped on the underside of the head that faces the tops of the pistons... so what kind of heads are these ?

Re: gt40 heads or are they stock?

Look in the top under where the valve cover would be, GT-40s will say GT, GT-40p's will say GTP.

My Ford engine parts interchange book ends in the 70's with no mention of these. The heads you have stock on your GT are E7TE truck heads, the casting number leads me to believe they are either 83-84 heads or 85-86 heads, both of which were pretty much junk... Hope I'm wrong, but if I'm right, sorry for ya.
