smokey vtech

If the oil level is not correct than vtech will not ingage at the proper rpmif the water temp is not at a proper running temp the vtech will not ingage from experience I have 1989 civic si with b18c1 acura gsr swap vtech engage is at 4900 to 5000 rpm and bet it smokes to high heaven until I let off at 8200rpm but just a grey white smoke and it disapates fast it doesnt hang in the air like oil smoke. now I have you any mods you must remember that they also come in play like air intake now you adjust air fuel, or external coil now you adjust timing I tinkered with the f&a and the timing and found that if you run a little rich and retard the time that there is not as much smoke in the vtech

vtech????? never heard of it.

and back to the question at hand, I would say you are burning a bit of oil or coolant hence why I asked. If it was black smoke I would say you were running rich. white is usually coolant, and possibly oil especially if it is more greyish, anyway if you are burning either of these you may need a head gasket, or if it is definitly oil maybe a bad ring. however it doesn't sound very bad yet. in other words unless it gets real bad don't worry about it as long as you keep fluids full. at this point I would say it is not a major problem but has the potential to be one.
