Rotary MR2
Read
, digest , enjoy , and don't criticise Has anyone here thought of putting a turbo rotary in their MR2??? Everyone always complains about wanting more power but not having enough room in the engine bay to put a v6 or v8 in there... then put a rotary in. There are more than enough upgrades for the rotary engine out there, it will be boost friendly if you slap a turbo on it, and you'll have room to spare. Sure it might not BOLT RIGHT IN but why do you expect everything to be so easy? do some work, get your hands dirtier that ever before and create something that has never been done. All you have to do is create a custom bellhousing for the block to mate to the tranny and fabricate some custom motor mounts. If you're devote enough and motivated you CAN do it... and if you share your enthusiasm with other people I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a sponsor or two that will help you with your project and that way you won't have too many budget issues. Good luck to whoever has the drive and balls to do this because I think that it CAN BE DONE and SHOULD BE DONE to prove people wrong and amaze the others. I'm currently undergoing an LS1 swap into a pontiac fiero and the concept is very similar to the one listed above. It has been done by only 2 people in the world but everyone still says it can't be done, so I'm on my way to proving them dead wrong and doing it all on my own And I'm out.... good day hope I motivated someone today

Re: Rotary MR2
v6 = can be done
v8 = ask bill strong more power = well.... i can attest to what a mk1 with a 3sgte feels like there are too many problems and setbacks to putting a rotary into a mr2 (trust me, i have an rx7 and a mr2... that was what i wanted to do first) but, a chevy 350 into a fiero... you can buy an adaptor plate for the tranny, and use the stock fiero transmission.

eh, that's an important part of the car. it's from the front of the trunk that you can cut off the car. the enginebay/trunk wall is the rear bulkhead. but your fiero project sounds like my mr2 was! ![]() get a shoehorn ![]() do you have pics yet?

Re: Rotary MR2
wait a second, for the adaptor plate: do you mean you can't find a chevy 350 adaptor in general? or the ls1 is different?

russianyuri, why dont you just put a turbo rotary in a MR-2, instead of trying to motivate someone else

Re: Rotary MR2
mmm yeah theres heaps of people saaying the 3s-gte can't give enough power... cause it has NO potential... ummmmmm
i don't think power potential is the problem, i think people want 6's and 8's to have something different instead of a 3sgte with a massive turbo. |

I'm just presenting and idea for you guys to digest and discuss so maybe one of you actually goes through with it. Innovation is the key to the future and it goes hand in hand with creativity. DARE TO BE DIFFERENT and TAKE EVERY CHANCE AND RISK YOU CAN because ITS WORTH IT. Better to regret doing something than not doing anything at all. If I had the money I would sure as hell put the money into a rotary MR2. And if my LS1 Fiero falls through for some reason (which it won't ) I will still be happy knowing that I TRIED instead of just letting the idea go by untested and untried. It may take me 4-5 years to do it but if I really like the V8 Fiero then I'm sure as hell getting me an MR2 (which is better looking than the Fiero for sure) and building it up with some crazy idea that nobody else has ever done... because I'm and that's how I have fun, by proving other people wrong at the things they don't know about and say that I can't do
