Cool GTR twin Turbo Vs Zo6????

Hey guys ,,, how u doin all...? well, i'm a new member and i was amazed to see such a great forum .. as you can see i'm in love with the Japanese monster (SkyLine GTR) and dreaming of having one!!! i've seen an R32, 3 of the R33, and 2 of R34 here in Kuwait .. and they all were so powerful (most of them were modified) i've seen them smoke on (Porsch 911&Carrera, FireBird, SL500, and alot more) .. maybe you won't believe it but i've seen a white R34 drag with a Ferrari Modena (we have about 30 Modenas in Kuwait) ... and the skyline ran just beside it til 280Km/H .... I love this car .... one of my friends says that the Zo6 can smoke on a Skyline (GTR Twin Turbo) ... huh!!?? what do u think guys!?

Re: GTR twin Turbo Vs Zo6????

Stock for stock, and with drivers of equal skill, a Z06 will probably beat even an R34 GT-R.

The Z06 weighs less than an R34 GT-R(3106lbs vs 3395lbs). It also has much more power, even if you go by the speculated true power figure of the R34 GT-R(385-405hp vs 340hp).

That is the war that made me love the Skyline. Back in the day i don't remember when or which but probably thr r32 cause of the look and the 5th gen vette wasn't out yet, but Road and track reported the skyline, looking like a family car to me, was quicker than the vette, which i thought was way over rated, but it was still quick. The c5 vette has grown on me a bit more now that it can actually handle the road, and the skyline looks more agressive now, so it needs to hold it own. Another sleeper car is the ferrari 456. It looks so smooth and mellow, you can't even tell it's ferrari, but ........oh yeah it is 8)

Well I'll weigh in on this one too. I used to own a 2001 C5 Corvette coupe with the Z51 autocross package. So I guess I am not exactly impartial.

The Nissan Skyline is a truely great car. The Corvette ZO6 is also great too. When making a comparison one should only speak of stock cars, as each of these machines are highly agreeable to modification.

Speaking in terms of stock cars, the hallmark for the R-34 Skyline GT-R was it's amazingly fast lap time for the Nurburgring in Germany. This time stood as a record for many years. (Now, it's debatable if this particular skyline was bone stock) none the less, the results were highly impressive. Only recently has a car matched or beaten this record. I believe the current ZO6 tied it, and the new C6 Coupe beats it by a second or two unofficially. The new C6 ZO6 is due out next year with somwhere close to 500hp. That will be interesting to see.

I think in different kinds of racing events the numbers will come out different, so it's hard to say. Each car has it's advantages, the big difference being AWD and RWD. However, it should be noted that the Skyline is an aging platform and the new vette is benefitting from advances in technology. The real proof will be when the nex GT-R weighs in in 2007.

We are lucky to live in such interesting times!

No it didn't. Caterham went and smashed it not long afterwards.

Anyway this thread is off topic for this forum, and has been done to death to many times already.
