Re: fuel tank size

I believe it's around 14 gallons. I wouldn't go no more than about 300 miles between fill ups.

Re: fuel tank size

It's 14.1 gallons exactly, but the light is supposed to come on after like 11.5 or 12 gallons are gone. If you drive strictly city and have the V6, I wouldn't do more than 250 miles. You should still have a little less than 1/4 of a tank, but it's never good to run with less than 1/4 of a tank since the gas in the tank keeps the fuel pump cool. If you consistantly run the car with less than 1/4 of a tank, your pump will overheat and it will kill the life of the pump.

Re: fuel tank size

BTW, wasn't there a recall for this issue on 1999 and 2000 models? I would check with the dealer before you pay anyone to have this done.

Vehicle fluid capacities are all shown in the owner's manual. This includes fuel tank capacity. You may want to simply refer to that for the most accurate information pertaining to your specific vehicle. It seems to me that capacities (I'm no looking at my owner's manual) are near the back, seems like typically section 6.

Re: fuel tank size

everytime I filled up it was when the gas light came on and was only able to hold about 11-12 gallons. And I have actually ran it dry and got 20 miles from the time the light came on till the car died.
