Wet Floorboard When A/C Running - Caravavan

During long drives with the A/C on, the passenger side floorboard gets wet.

The source area for the wetness appears to be the far right side of the floorboard between the seat and the the wheelwell.

Mechanics have already done the following:
Condensation tube has been checked (with a coat hanger) and the A/C's air filter has been replaced.

Anyone aware of any chronic A/C condensation problems with late model Caravan/Town & Country vans?

Thanks
Bob G.

My 2003 Town & Country is doing the same thing. Just had it at a repair shop, and they told me to take it to a dealer - any ideas?

Re: Wet Floorboard When A/C Running - Caravavan

Yea!! I think we've got the answer. We will test it out soon. We need substantial time on the highway to prove the fix, or not.

Chrysler's original design drain tube -- points directly towards the front of the vehicle. So if you are running at high speed, the wind off the motor etc doesn't let the thing drain.

CHRYSLER HAS REDSIGNED THE DRAIN TUBE. It now has a 90 degree bend in it, so the end is facing downward, not forward.

I was charged, by an independent mechanic shop, $6.95 for the part (a little rubber tube about 2-3 inches long), and $20 to put it on. I thought that was a heck of a deal. You might ask the dealer if they have a recall.
