tension regulator,, rumors...
Hy evrybody,, i have a little question for you and its sound funny but its that what a mechannic who knows Porsche very well told me....i take out my tension regulator on my alternator because i think i have a faulty regulator,,, and i want to replace them,, but this guys told me to rebuilt the entire alternator because if a just put a new regulator on my altenator that will scrap the alternator!!! do you think thats right???
, have a nice day guys and i will wait for your opinion before rebuilting my entirely alternator.

I replaced my regulator w/ the alternator still bolted up. It's been working fine since.
I'd recommended that you clean the alternator to get any dust, sand, dirt, contact shavings out before installing a new regulator. At least blow out as much as you can. Wiggle the shaft for play to see if the alt really needs a rebuilding. Good luck.

thank you Mr 83-944, i will find a jobber regulator and fit it on my bolted alternator,, i,m sure that will be fine anyway my alternator seem like a new one, my porsche dealer seld me a regulator for 130$$$ !!!! its very too expensive,,in canada they are crazy they think they we are so rich, but we are so taxe l

Even if shipping doubled the cost, you're still saving $88.
