2 random questions

First, I hear more and more about people with twin turbos on their 4 cylinders, and not some big ass 3 liter 4, but little 2.0s. Is this even possible? Is there enough exhaust to spin 2 turbos? And would you have any top end power?

Second is that my dad has a 1994 Altima and he has plenty of problems with it. I know it has a KA24DE, but itès front wheel drive. People say they had their timing chains done on their 240, but the garage says they can't do anything to the Altima because it wasnt meant to be changed, is this possible?

Re: 2 random questions

i dont know a lot about mechanix, but this question has been asked allready. Twin turbo is meant for 6 cyl engines and up, not little 4 bangers. Single turbo is better for 4 cyl, u can put TT but theres no reason to. But u can put it in a 13B Rotary engine. i dont know how it works though. Like i said i dont know about this stuff so someone explain better. I dont know about altima problem

On the rotary, I think it's one turbo for each rotor, but thanks anyways.

well

2 turbos on a 2.4L is a 1 turbo per 1.2 liter ratio.... don't ask me how I come up with these figures...

2 turbos on a v6, stock ones I know of are 3.0(3000gt, 300zx) this breaks it down to a 1 turbo per 1.5 liter ratio......

now thats .3 liter difference per turbo......

the difference would be like a SR vs a KA in terms of displacement.... z32 300zx's can make some good power, as can a 3000gt... so in reality you would be SLIGHTLY behind that... still respectable if done right IMHO but more of a cost in parts....

the true question to ask is:
why?

Does it matter that one has 2 pistons powering it and the other has 3 pistons?

Those people are most likely liars and/or civic owners who don't know what the hell they're talkin about.

not at all.....

a turbo could have 1 piston powering it, but that piston has 5L of displacement.....

on t he other hand you could have a v12 with 4.5L displacement, doesn't matter how many cylinders just the displacement, because that is what will actually power the turbo(exhaust gasses from combustion chamber) So in this case that 1 piston 5L engine would make more power and have the boost come on at a lower RPM then the 4.5L engine.....

hope that helps
