Starting Problems 2001 Aurora
What a great site. I just joined and can't wait to meet some of you folks! I am currently having some starting problems with my 2001 3.5 aurora. It has 100,000+ trouble free miles to date. However, after sitting several hours to overnight I turn on the ignition and it will not turn over. However, all dash lights including security come on. After turning the ignition 5 - 25 times it will start.
Also, some times when it starts hard the tachometer sometimes will go to redline while the engine is at idle. The check engine light will go on occasionally, but will go out after 200 or so miles. Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Thanks for your help |

Sounds like you have a starter solenoid going bad.(not related to the tach or "service engine" problem).
Take your car to Auto Zone & have them determine what code(s) are stored in your computer memory that would have send a "service engine" signal. |
