in need of some help please

okay first off i'm new here but not to honda, so hince my title i need of some help please, okay i had a 86 accord lx auto, which was hit by another guy causeing me to lose control and slide into the wall.
now i have a 88 accord lx auto, i had the hood open today and i noticed that i have a few wire's coming out of my tranny, i did'nt noticed this on my 86.
now i know the difference between a 86-87 and 88-89.
first off the 88-89 sedan's are about 2 inches longer and wider than the 86-87. the tail's are different and front end is different.
but the tranny's got me stumpped.
i know the 86-87 tranny is electronic controlled, so is the 88-89 model's?
