Racing Questions

Ok I am new to the awd racing concepts... i was wondering what you all do and what is the best way...

i have a 1995 tsi awd it is all stock i have been racing it around my town a little bit and have done exceptionally well. but i had a few questions on how to make my driving better.

first questions is the launch when i first got it i got drunk and dropped the clutch at 5.5 in a race and kicked his ass (crx full engine internals) but realized when i was done what the fuck am i doing that cant be good for my awd and it could probally result in crank lock and differential damage... so i started launching from 2.5 and clutch kicking after the start this worked alot better but i figured i would ask what you all do and what the best thing is to win and waht is good and bad for my car

best manual tranny launch on an awd (peak performance) is launch around 4k or so

anything less you will probably bog off the line and feel like an idiot, anything more you will probably just tear something up like you mentioned

in my TSi AWD automatic, i just powerbrake till my brakes cant hold her down any more and jump out of the hole like a damn bottlerocket

Keep with the 4-4.5k launch and you'll do great!

now you are shure that this wont be really hard on my car... i am scared of losing my baby.... and skip the clutch kick because the turbo is allready spooled up?? correct?

this was on a track with a barrier 1/4 of the way on an 1/8th mile track i ran an 8.7 8th mile that run

you are asking questions on how to launch your car and you run an 8.7??? did you buy the car with mods already done to it?

hmm, re read your first post..

i have a 1995 tsi awd it is all stock

impossible to run an 8.7 in the 1/8mile on a comepletely stock motor

you re read the post bud it says 1/8 of a mile with a barrier 1/4 of the way down no the car is stock the only things done to it is a homemade boost controller and a boost gauge

Dear people who have been posting,

This is a little off the subject and i need to address this issue. I was at my cousins house the past 2 days and started to post on automotive forums. I was having a good time learning about the site until i go under the talon forum and find my user name allready had a post so i read the post and find out that someone in my family (anyone of my 3 cousins or 1 brother was putting bogus stuff about me and my car in this post and i think i better set things straight. I do have a 1995 Talon TSI AWD it IS ALL stock i have never driven while drunk i have never raced on a drag strip and i have only raced my car one night. I think the problem came up when talkin to my cousin about launching and one of them came on and said some false Sh!t. Anyways I am sorry for the inconvience and the annoyance and hopefully i can get help from you in the future...
