auto question

hey guys, i got a civic 5th gen, and my friend who has the same car both in auto. he uses 1D and 2nd drive then 3rd drive. when he drags sumtimes. just draging by himself. or when flooring it. is it say to shift the auto's and when doing it, do u have to let go of the gas or wat. i dont do it,. maybe i go to 3rd drive for more power

shift it right before redline to give it a sec to switch on it's own. Or, since your car is so slow anyways, just keep it in D and don't worry bout it..
