HI, Im going to be towing 5k lbs 600 miles in late august from pa to nc and back with my 97 ram 1500 5.2liter with the towing package. it has 112 miles on it. was going to change out all the fluids before hand, any ideas on whether i should use synthetic fluids in trans, rear diff., crankcase oil? or should i just use regular oil n stuff. I have the factory tow package trans cooler. Any advice, and any recomendation on what brand and type of synthetics? thanks, Jeff

If you're going to go synthetic, Amsoil is a good choice, never heard anything but good stuff about their products.
As far as towing, watch your brakes on the 1500 with that load, my brother warped some rotors towing & slowing that much. |
