Re: Fu<king Pop-Ups!

i think this needs to go in the stress release forum.

Also get adaware or spybot to get rid of your spyware. if you have that many popups your definately going to have shitloads of spyware so clean your computer of em by downloading/purchasing those programs.

That's not the actual way to rid of the spyware. The programs really don't do shit. You have to use a virus scanner. I recommend Norton. What you have to do, is first uninstall any programs who are associated with pop-ups like Kazaa, internet games etc. Then, run the virus scanner to find the infected files. Next, you have to go to the Symantec website to see teh descrition of each file. Then, it gives you specific instructions to remove teh infected files, which includes going into your system' file registry editor, and unbinding certain .dll application extension files.

as mentioned get spybot and adaware, update them, and get rid of all that crap spyware.

Then get to mozilla.org and download the latest version of firefox, its an awesome browser and youll never see an unrequested popup again.

What you do with that, is just undo it. Favorties on Internet Explorer (if thats what u have dayna) usually is jsut a side bar. Just go to the top, and you'll see favorites highlighted, jsut unhighlight it. Problem solved. If it keeps coming, lemme kno.

Re: Fu<king Pop-Ups!

um... thats the crazy part... its not highlighted. I keep closing the favorites, then as soon as i go to the next page, it opens back up but not highlighted.

Does that make sense?

Re: Fu<king Pop-Ups!

you may have a virus..... but hold on, I'm checking around my IE. I think I have ver. 6. What do you have?

Here we go. When another IE window pops up, try pressing Ctrl+I.

Please do shut up. Spyware programs are a very real thing and while not as dangerous as a virus they sure are anoying as heck not to mention taking up cycles.

Antivirus programs do NOT remove spyware. Best programs for spyware removal are spybot and adaware.

Btw dayna you don't have to get either from Kazaa since they are free. And if anything don't download software from Kazaa it is very dangerous.

And about the browser Dayna try using mozilla firefox trust me you'll love it. Forget about IE, its a security nightmare anyway.

You can get it here:

Best method is prevention.
Stop looking at porn and you wouldn't get pop-ups. Thats where over half of the pop-up's I've ever seen come from.

I never siad they remove adware, it finds the files for you, and you manually have to delete them.
