JDM TCU for an H22 in a 91 Accord

I have asked this question in some threads I started, but never started an independent thread for this question. I have a JDM H22 with an automatic tranny in my 91 accord. Everything is running fine, except my car is shifting at 6k rpm's, and I know the engine is capable of so much more. The Tranny computer is for my 91 accord. I am looking for a tranmission control unit out of an ODBI JDM car with a H22 in it. Dose anyone know where I can find this? Thanks for your replys!

Ok maybe I'm wrong here (and going to make myself look like a dumbass) but I've never heard of a tranny control unit. Are you talking about an ECU? If so look here: https://passwordjdm.com/index.php?pa...ategory_id=ecu

Re: JDM TCU for an H22 in a 91 Accord

You guys aren't dumbasses. You are smart, because you have a manuel <spelling> tranny and I have an automatic. If you have a stick the tranny computer is actually is included in your ECU. An auto is more advanced so it needs its own computer. My ECU is in my door panel. My TCU is under my passanger seat. if you go on Ebay and do a search for a TCU you should be able to see pic's of them. Thanks for the reply

Re: JDM TCU for an H22 in a 91 Accord

Let me ask you a quick question. I just bought a h23 for 800. I want to put it into my 91accord, but it is automatic. I just wanted to know if it would work with my 94 accord manual tranny i already have in my car, or do I need to purchase a another h23 manual tranny and do that swap

Actually, All H and F series trannies are interchangable. (excluding the F20C and F22C)

So your saying my 94 accord tranny can work with the h23 engine. If so would I have to change the gear ratio.

try 92lude.com or the dealer. You didn't find one at ebay.

You can find a USDM one on Ebay, the dealer dosen't carry a JDM TCU, and I need to check out the site that you gave me. Thanks for the input

Re: JDM TCU for an H22 in a 91 Accord

weird, my civic didnt have a TCU, was all in the ECU and for a manual, the tarnny computer isnt in the ECU, would it be? I mean thers nothing for the computer to know about the tranny excetp for if its in reverse, and how fast you are going???

maybe thepartstrader.com as wel, probably wont find a JDM one though. but maybe can get one from an early vtec prelude that came with an auto. i think thay were available with an auto, GSR's/ITRS/SI's arent though so who knows

Yes, it can work. No, you don't have to change anything. Your stock accord ratios might not do much justice to the h23; but it would still work regardless.
