Question Jumping...

Im tryin like hell to dunk, I can just dunk 9 and 1/2. So I'm about 8in short of dunking regulation(I know regulation is only 6in away but I'm tryin to dunk, not lay it up and grab the rim). Im not sure which muscle is essentially needed to be worked the most. I think it would be the quads but I hear its more about the calfs. Someone let me know which muscle is most important to jumping. Please dont just say "legs".

Sorry to say it but it involves all your leg muscles. Jumping also involves a lot of skill. You should try the Air Alert training program. It is designed specifically to increase vertical jump. Google it and you can find it for free.

you can try box jumps,or band resitence training
try something like this http://www.performbetter.com/detail....173_A_rnd_E_40

or http://www.performbetter.com/detail....863_A_rnd_E_44

or you canget a weight belt and a band attach the band to a pole or a bottom of a door get the band tight and then jump(these JC bands are made by the owner of the gym that my wifes a GM at so i know they work)http://www.performbetter.com/detail....tegoryID_E_281
or grab 2 dumbells and do squat trust..grab the dum bells and squat and jump as high as you can, doing the above exercise will help your jump and if you do them fastenuff it will help your cardio
