hey. i recently found this plymouth duster (no motor, trans.) rust free except small portion on the passenger rear quarter panel. rust free trunk, perfect body. new-ish paint. had 440 in it.
tell me what you'd pay. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, if anyone has any idea how hard, and how much it would cost to get a used tranny and used engine and the other misc. parts needed to get this thing running again. it comes with driveshaft and some misc. parts. enjoy. |

i wouldnt pay much more then 4k-5k, 6k at most on it. and did you mean 340 because i dont think a 440 would fit, if it did damn. how much are they selling it for anyways? it wouldnt get too hard finding parts for it just do some research check around go to some junkyards, if your willing to do that stuff then its not too hard. and i you have the right tools. what engine do you want in this monster? me personally i would go with a 340 or 360 (preferably the 340 then you wouldnt have to change the paint
)check some of these out. a 383 http://www.hemmings.com/index.cfm/fu...tail/id/556032 a hemi?http://www.hemmings.com/index.cfm/fu...tail/id/555770 or pull one out of these http://adcache.collectorcartraderonl...0/74452450.htm http://adcache.collectorcartraderonl...4/74524194.htm if i find more ill let you know |

Re: Plymouth Duster, how much would you pay?
You can put any mopar engine in there that you want. They put hemi's in Darts from the factory. I've seen guys at the track with big block Dusters. Darts and Dusters share the same body so it would work, they're basically the same car.
Preferably the 340 because you shouldn't have to change the paint? That's a bad excuse. Paint is easy to correct, and a 360 would suck anyways. If this was my car, I'd leave the 340 paint scheme on, and put a big block in it. You'd fool so many people. I wouldn't pay more than 2 grand for that. There's nothing there. I should go pick it up and then sell it to this '67'cuda guy for 6 grand, and I'll profit so much.

i was jokeing about the paint thing. but that car is in nice shape so i would pay the extra $$$$ for it rather than getting a p.o.s. for 2 grand then puting an extra 5 grand to get it to look good. thats just me though. and if i had 6k on me know i would buy it from you bleedDodge you would miss out on a nice duster.

Re: Plymouth Duster, how much would you pay?
If you even got a p.o.s. for 2 grand it would be too much. These A body cars aren't worth anything. You should be able to pick up a decent car for 500 bucks, throw some paint on it, spend maybe 1000 bucks or something on an engine, and license it.
This car here, it looks like it might have a nice interior, it's got nice mags, pipes, and good paint. I would go down there with no more than 2 grand, start the offer at 1500 and go up to 2000. If the guy wants to sell it, he'd let me have it for 2000. If this car was running, I could see 5000 bucks at most. This car needs work.

Re: Plymouth Duster, how much would you pay?
$2000 is the absoute upper limit. You could easily spend $4000 on a decent driveline, installed and ready to go and still end up with a $4000 car anyways.
Still, its in great shape. Around here, those cars dissolved 20 years ago. |

Re: Plymouth Duster, how much would you pay?
i can't say how original it all is, but i know the original color is orange. it didnt' start with a 340, and the asking price is 1500-2000 dollars. anyway, i'm not getting it.
ugly bumpers and probably gonna wait for another chrysler product. |

Re: Plymouth Duster, how much would you pay?
Probably the best looking car I have ever seen with no powertrain. I guess that was the best part. I wouldn't spend more than $2,000, but I guess it is a moot point now.
